    The area's top grapplers congregated at Milwaukee Pius XI High School on Saturday to compete at Combat Corner Grappling Championship 8. Andy Acker and Charlie Radtke took home first place in the men's absolute divisions as Red Schafer Mixed Martial Arts took home the team trophy. In a division that saw Joao Bosco pull off a brutal kneebar over Chris Senner, Scott Sievewright put Andrew Trace to sleep with a baseball choke, and Chris Piper end matches lightning fast, it was Charlie Radtke’s bruising style that ultimately won the men’s 170-pound and below No-Gi absolute division.

    Competing outside of Wisconsin continues to be the downfall for Herbert “Whisper” Goodman. The middleweight suffered his third straight loss off of Wisconsin soil on Friday as he lost to Isaiah Larson in the main event of “Riot At The Hyatt” in Minneapolis. The night was equally as tough for fellow Badgers Brian Learn and Floyd Hodges who also fell at the hands of their Minnesota counterparts.
