Even though they are not a varsity sport the team has the potential with young talent to become a Carroll Varsity sport within the next five years.

Wisconsin lightweight Floyd Hodges outlasted Eugene Crisler in an exciting battle while Dan Stittgen grinded his way to victory over Mark Stoddard in the headliner. Meeting in the welterweight division Stoddard and Stittgen battled for 15 drawn out minutes over the weekend. Sporting his wrestling shoes Stittgen was able to do just enough through the entirety to earn a majority decision over Stoddard.

Simpson pummeled Schafer on the feet with a constant barrage of punches before earning a unanimous decision victory on the preliminary card. Rendering Schafer’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game virtually non-existent by keeping the fight standing Simpson looked dominant from the onset. Early in the first round “A-Train” sent his opponent crashing to the floor with a strong hook that set the tone for the rest of the contest.

    Another big test for undefeated Andrew Trace looms just around the corner. The 2011 Combat USA welterweight champion returns to action in Kentucky on Saturday against Chris Curtis at Turf Wars Extreme Fighting. Headlining the TWEF “Heavy Hitters” card the unbeaten Trace faces another tough challenge when he collides with Curtis (6-2). Both competitors have been impressive in the start of their careers, each with at least one championship to their name.
