Other than a Hail Mary triangle attempt from Lyman Good in the final seconds of their Bellator 33 title bout, the Milwaukee-based fighter has looked nearly unstoppable since transitioning from the wrestling mat. And while Askren remains undefeated with victories over veterans Nick Thompson, Lyman Good, and Dan Hornbuckle, tomorrow's championship bout against Bellator's Season 4 welterweight tournament winner Jay Hieron should showcase how the former Olympian will fare against the sport's top welterweights. -

Don’t look now, but the North American Fighting Championship “Unleashed” event is quickly turning into one of the best in recent Wisconsin memory. Already featuring a number of intriguing matchups such as Chico Camus vs. Matt Brown and Karl Turek vs. Will Dicke, the card has just added a few more notable names to its roster. Reportedly squaring off in the welterweight class will be submission specialist Andrew Trace and hard-hitting Tim Hallock. Both competitors made headlines in last year’s Combat USA tournament and will now meet in a division-defining dance in Milwaukee on November 18. -

The biggest opportunity of Floyd Hodges’ career is just around the corner. The streaky Wisconsin fighter has agreed to face off against four-time UFC veteran Waylon Lowe at "ProElite 2: Sylvia vs. Kraniotakes" in Moline, Illinois on November 5. An obvious clash of styles, the free-swinging Hodges has once again been matched up with a proven wrestler. Lowe, a three-time NCAA national champion at the University of Findlay, possesses the skill set that has given Hodges fits throughout his career. -
NCGA Finals Canceled After Red Schafer MMA Withdraws Due to Ruling Issues
After an exciting road to the National Cage Grappling Association team tournament finals, the competition has come to an abrupt and disappointing end. NCGA promoter Justin Hutter explained on the US Combat Sports Forum that Red Schafer Mixed Martial Arts has “withdrawn from the tournament due to discrepancies in the rules system”. -
Pedro Sauer Seminar Highlights - Schafer, Friedland, Westlake Receive Black Belt Stripes
Master Pedro Sauer, an eighth degree Rickson/Helio Gracie black belt and instructor to many of the state’s top grapplers, returned to Waukesha MMA over the weekend for a two-day seminar. Amongst the many highlights of the seminar was Eric “Red” Schafer, Jon “White Trash” Friedland, and Dr. Tim Westlake earning the first stripes upon their black belts. -
