2011 Southwest Grappling Championship Coming October 22nd
Southwest Grapplers won't have to wait long this year for the next big tournament. The 2011 Southwest Grappling Championship is just a short time away, with divisions for kids and adults of all skill levels. Scheduled for October 22nd, 2011 at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, NM. this event will be the last of the season and the final chance to earn team points for the 2011 Team Challenge. Large Team trophies will be awarded for1st-5th. This is a double elimination tournament, as is the case in all Combat Sports Club tournaments, andawards large custom medals to all placers 1st-4th.Men NoGi competitors also earn points towards the Elite Division debuting in 2012. -

Freestyle SAMBO Championship Logs Record 2011 in Austin, Texas
Yesterday Austin, Texas hosted the 2011 State Freestyle SAMBO Championships. Freestyle SAMBO is a rules set within the Russian sport designed to provide a competition equally palatable to multiple grappling disciplines. The 2011 Championship represented the greatest state-level success in the short history of the Freestyle rules set, attracting a record number of competitors from nine area teams.
