Today on a media conference call, Dana White put suspicions to rest and announced that the first UFC on Fox event will feature none other than heavyweight champion Cain Valesquez defending his title against number one contender Junior Dos Santos. This bout was originally expected to take place a week later on pay-per-view live from San Jose. Dana White reminded fight fans and media members alike that a fight is not official until he has announced it.

The fight world lost another good one this month. Chris Schnake, affectionately known to the combative community as “Big Poppa” Schnake, has passed away. The tragic news broke earlier today and not much is known about the circumstances, however it seems to have occurred within Wisconsin.

When Pro Elite announced a bout between former UFC Champion "The Pitbull" Andrei Arlovski and Ray Lopez as the main event for its August 27th event in Honolulu, Hawaii, many fight fans headed to their nearest laptop to look up the latter. "Who is Ray Lopez?" was the thought that came to mind for many. A quick scan of his record showed that he is a three-time King of the Cage veteran with a 6-1-0-1 record who has finished five of his six victims in decisive fashion, and is coming off a first round knockout victory in his last bout. King of the Cage "Overdrive" descends upon Norman, Oklahoma for what will prove to be earth shaking mixed martial arts fights. The fight card for this event features nine professional bouts including the King of the Cage Bantamweight Championship. The night showcased a wide range talent pool of upcoming amateur MMA fighters each displaying great skills, heart, and determination in the cage as they hoped to make a name for themselves in the sport.
