Saturday August 6, Conan’s Kickboxing Academy in Norman, Oklahoma will be hosting a kickboxing event in order to raise money for breast cancer.

The brain child of this event was one of Conan’s student Tiffany Gimmey. After her ex-mother-in-law passed away earlier this year as a result of breast cancer, this fighter didn’t know how to do anything else other than fight. So she went to her instructor, former four-time world kickboxing champion, Scott “Conan” Mincey and pitched the idea of doing an event that would benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Susan G. Komen.

This Saturday night Ada, OK native Johny Hendricks will look to start back up a winning streak as he faces off against Mike Pierce at UFC 133: Evans vs Ortiz. 

With a win Hendricks hopes to see an opponent like Diego Sanchez, who is exactly who he asked for after his win at Ultimate Fight Night 24. He said that his single loss to Rick Story was a fluke, and having corrected areas of his game, is ready to take down anyone the UFC will send his way.

Mark Holata has known for a long time what he has wanted and for him that has been to be a Bellator Fighting Championships fighter.

This past Saturday did not prove to be a disappointment as fight fans gathered together for Freestyle Cage Fighting 48 at Firelake Grand Casino in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Two title fights took the main stage as Josh Bryant ended Brandon McDowell's night very early and Sally Krumdiack used her dominant ground game to stop Sarah Maloy.

If you were a fan of mixed martial arts pre-Ultimate Fighter the names Fedor Emelianenko and Dan “Hendo” Henderson were etched in your brain as the cream of the crop, the best of the best, and certainly among the top pound-for-pound fighters the sport has ever known.
