Jake Shields Discusses Vegetarian Lifestyle and Moving Back to UFC Middleweight Division
As Jake Shields continues his move back to middleweight strength training remains a very important part of his rigorous workouts. The Ultimate Fighting Championship contender talked to Dylan Falduto about how an active vegetarian lifestyle has allowed him to successfully compete in multiple divisions.
"Everything is going really good. I'm in the early fight prep. Just doing a lot of fundamental striking and wrestling. Lifting a lot of weights. I am trying to bulk up, because I am moving up a weight class."
Along with strength and conditioning, Shields finds himself eating much more liberally as he prepares for his return as a middleweight. "I work out so much so I have to make sure I eat a lot. I try to eat about six meals a day. I take a couple protein shakes. I use Sun Warrior protein. I drink one shake in the morning and one at night, and just try to eat as much as possible."
Cage Titans Prevail: Team Sityodtong's Jimmy Davidson Remains Undefeated with Stoppage Over Anniss El Hajjajy
From the opening of Friday's Cage Titans FC "Prevail" card it was evident that fans were in for an entertaining night of fights. And never was this more visible than the main event between game competitors Anniss El Hajjajy and Jimmy Davidson.
The start of the lightweight championship title fight saw both fighters hesitant to engage the other as both fighters began unwilling to throw the first strike. As Davidson threw the first strike of the fight, Anniss went under it and attempted the first takedown, which ended up in a clinch.
Both fighters were posturing in the clinch as they tried to muscle the other, during which Anniss attempted an arm in guillotine. Anniss released the guillotine only to somehow find himself on his back with Davidson in his guard.

This past Friday, Cage Titans FC sold out the Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Ma. People from all over the surrounding area packed in to see their friends, training partners, fathers and sons take to the cage. The stacked undercard for Cage Titans FC - Prevail did everything but disappoint.
It provided the crowd with endless amusement. It has become a regular thing for promoters to use amateurs to fill the ranks of their undercards in local events. Michael Polvere has found a way to utilize the amateurs in the northeast in a way that few promotions have yet to even touch upon.
Out of the twelve fights on the undercard this past Saturday three of the fights ended in rear naked chokes (RNC), three ended in a triangle of sorts, and two were finished by armbar. Three of the fights on the undercard ended by technical knockout and only one got to see a judges' scorecard.

Jake Shields Looks to Move Up the Middleweight Rankings with Victory Over Ed Herman at UFC 150
Jake Shields doesn't care what people think about him. Throughout his whole life, Shields has been criticized. He has learned to not only take this criticism in stride, but allowed it to create an unbreakable level of self-belief.
While the positivity of his loyal teammates at Caesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu motivates Shields to train hard, it is truly the criticism of his detractors that gets him out of bed in the morning. It always has been.
Growing up as a lifelong vegetarian, Shields was always told he couldn't be successful, as he recalls, "All throughout high school and college everyone told me I couldn't be an athlete, so I wanted to prove them wrong." Prove them wrong he did, as Shields became a two-time All-American wrestler at Cuesta College.

Since 2007, when friend and teammate Anthony Pettis convinced Camus to leave the streets for the gym, the heavy-handed striker has become a force to be reckoned with within the 135-pound division.
