Although there are plenty of other BJJ Gi brands out there, we couldn’t help noticing that more and more jiu-jitsu practitioners have started to search for a good Adidas BJJ Gi. The first and most important advantage of such a product is that it is budget-friendly. Therefore, it definitely speaks to the needs of beginners.

You can’t compare the price of a Gi BJJ by Adidas with that of a Hayabusa alternative. It is true that a Gi from Adidas might be less durable in the long run, but sometimes you need one to get the job done.

Plus, from what we have noticed, the brand has done a lot of improvement in the past couple of years, meaning that their models are actually worth investing in now. Here are some models that you might want to consider.

Adidas BJJ Gi Review

1. Adidas Stars and Stripes Limited Edition Pearl Weave Gi – Navy/Red

adidas Star & Stripes BJJ Gi Pearl Weave (Navy/RED, A4)

Being made with a 100% Cotton Pearl Weave, this Gi is more than capable of keeping you feeling comfortable and at ease while you focus on your performance. It’s a two tone variety, but you can get an Adidas BJJ Gi in blue if that’s what you like. There are three color combinations available out there.

The model comes with a 450-gram adi-weave jacket (made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester for an extra amount of durability). As for the pants, they are pre-shrunk for minimal shrinkage over time and as you clean the unit in the washing machine.

Since the weight of the Gi on the whole matters a lot, you will be glad to know that it weighs in at just 3.5 pounds in total. The pants are made of quality 8-ounce ripstop fabric and they have as many as 6 draw-cord loops, as well as a soft rope style nylon draw cord.

Despite being one of the more affordable Gi BJJ Adidas models that we have come across, this one should definitely make your list.

2. Adidas New Contest 2.0 BJJ Gi/Jiu Jitsu Gi Pearl Weave

Another model that you might want to jot down on your list is this one. It is made of quality materials and has a good chance of standing the test of time. Additionally, it comes with a tailored multi-piece interior and single-back paneling, which both add to the comfort you’ll feel while training.

On top of everything, the model boasts a reinforced upper back, chest, knees, and shoulders, which all add to the total durability of the Gi. Similarly to the option that we have showcased earlier, this one is crafted from pre-shrunk fabric, so you don’t have to worry about it shrinking when you clean it in the washer.

Last, but not least, it’s worth noting that this model is IBJJF approved. Since there were some consumers who have complained about the Adidas BJJ Gi size chart not being good enough for them to understand which size they should order, here’s what you should know.

If you are around 180 lbs and 5’11:, you can get the A2, but it’s going to be a little stiff. If you’re a little bigger and your height is around 5’10”, you might find that the A3 works best for you.

If you would like to get a Gi that allows you to tend to your routine training without feeling restricted in any way, this one might be a good choice to take into account. It is dependable, made of quality fabrics, and durable, and it will give you a wide range of motion.

Like some of the other options that we have described in our selection, this one isn’t going to shrink when you clean it in the washer. It comes pre-shrunk, so you can rest assured that it’s going to stay the same size. By the way, the sizes you can opt for in this case are A0 and A4, so make sure you consult a size chart.

Is this product going to last for a more than decent amount of time? It certainly seems so. After all, it is outfitted with a reinforced chest and upper back, and also reinforced knees and shoulders.

While some of those that have written an Adidas BJJ Gi Review about this model say that you should size down, others say that it fits them perfectly. It depends on your physical attributes and personal preferences, after all.

4. Adidas Challenge BJJ350 Gi Pearl Weave

adidas Challenge BJJ350 Gi Pearl Weave (A2)

If you’re in the market for a Gi BJJ Adidas model that doesn’t break the bank, this one should be right up your alley. It is comfortable and convenient, and it’s made with quality materials, too. The jacket is manufactured using 100% supple cotton with a weight of 350 grams.

The fabric is lightweight and soft to the touch and it has also been found to be a winner in terms of breathability. Like many other Gis developed by the same brand, you will find that this one comes pre-shrunk, too, meaning that you don’t have to worry about having to deal with this issue.

It’s a good thing that the manufacturing company has equipped this product with a drawstring located inside the pants so that you can tighten them at the waist if they seem to be too large. What we’d like to add about this model is that there have been reports from people saying that the pants can be a little see-through. Do consider that, especially if you are a lady.

5. Adidas Jj601 Champion Kimono

adidas White Jj601 Champion Kimono A5

Having been made of a mix of soft cotton and a synthetic material, this Gi is lightweight, durable, and of course pre-shrunk. The pants also come pre-shrunk and are made of a mix of sixty percent cotton and forty percent polyester.

If you’re wondering why that is, we’ll tell you that blending cotton and poly makes for a fabric that’s soft and skin-friendly, yet at the same time, capable of standing the test of time. But what are people saying about this model?

Most of those that have invested in this choice praise the value that it offers for the money. There have been people all the way from Italy who have ordered it, and that’s because it can be particularly difficult to find a good kimono at this price point. As for the size, the A2 seems to fit people who are around 178 cm tall and who weigh about 78 kg.
