lennynelson8Steel Fist Entertainment’s “Hostile Validation” is set to invade The Rave this Saturday with an intriguing mixture of veterans and prospects, four championship fights, and a headlining matchup between experienced UFC-veteran Rich Clementi and Wisconsin up-and-comer Lenny Nelson.

Making its organizational debut this weekend, “Hostile Validation” will leap head first into Wisconsin’s deep MMA pool with an extremely solid lineup. More than half of the 20 scheduled matchups will be waged under professional rules, including the night’s welterweight main event.

At still only 33 years of age, Rich “No Love” Clementi has virtually done it all in the sport of mixed martial arts. The 10-time veteran of the UFC has amassed a career record of 36-16-1, and has beaten some of the world’s best fighters, including Anthony Johnson, Sam Stout, and Terry Etim.

Since the loss to Gleison Tibau that cost Clementi his spot on the UFC roster, the Team Voodoo fighter has won four of his last six fights, all of which have come by submission. Recently, “No Love” has agreed to a “tournament qualifier” bout in Bellator on September 9, but he must first meet Nelson in Milwaukee on Saturday.

It is safe to say that Lenny “Smash” Nelson will be the underdog when he meets Clementi over the weekend. The Unified Martial Arts will enter the cage with four professional bouts under his belt, 49 less than that of his opponent. However, in his short MMA career, Nelson has already shown that he can handle himself against more experienced opponents.

In only his second pro fight, Nelson earned the Cage Conflict Championship welterweight title with a TKO victory over Morrison Lamb. Also, “Smash” has defeated Brandon Fenderson and Tony Rook en route to a meeting with Maurice O’Neal in the Combat USA 170-pound finale.

Saturday’s main event between Clementi and Nelson will serve as the classic veteran versus prospect matchup. And while the more versed Clementi will enter as the undoubted favorite, it will be interesting to see how Nelson has mentally and physically prepared for the shot of a lifetime.

Warfield Looks For Four

Along with the main event, “Hostile Validation” will also feature four separate championship bouts. The promotion’s inaugural heavyweight, welterweight, lightweight, and bantamweight titles will all be on the line this weekend. A battle for the 155-pound strap between James “The Unbreakable Heavy Hitter” and Ryan “Bones” Bixler will be featured as the night’s co-main event.

For years, Warfield has patiently waited for a shot in one of the world’s premier organizations. And while he has fought within Shine Fight Promotions, and may be fighting there again in a short while, the Chosen Few fighter has been content with racking up the championships here in the Midwest.

Already owning the Madtown Throwdown, ECO, and FFC lightweight titles, Warfield will look to add to his belt collection with a victory on Saturday. The heavy-handed striker owns a record of 20-6, and has won eight of his last ten fights.

Standing in Warfield’s way will be Ryan “Bones” Bixler. Bixler, a strong wrestler from Iowa, holds a record of 17-8 and has won two of his last three fights. The Alliance fighter’s most recent battle in Wisconsin came against Sherron “Rob Roy” Leggett came in February and was awarded the USCS Fight of the Night.

Heavyweight Slugfest

In what has potential to be the night’s most entertaining fight, Chuck “Diesel” Hoskins and David “The Mayan Assassin” Oliva will meet for the Steel Fist Entertainment heavyweight title. The matchup pits together two powerful strikers looking for to bolster their resumes.

Since turning professional in August of 2009, Oliva has won his first five professional bouts. Most recently, the Dave Strasser’s Freestyle Academy fighter has won three straight matchups in Poland under the Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki. Saturday’s battle at The Rave will be his first stateside fight in nearly nine months.

Like his opponent, Hoskins has quickly made a name for himself on the local MMA scene. He has jumped out to a 3-1 record, with his only loss coming at the hands of the imposing Travis Wiuff. All of the Scorpion Alliance fighter’s wins have come via TKO in the first round, and a victory over Oliva would easily serve as his most impressive up to this point of his career.

Notable Names Throughout

The inaugural Steel Fist Entertainment welterweight and bantamweight titles will also be on the line this weekend. Chosen Few’s Jordan Faas will look to rebound from a recent Combat USA tournament loss when he squares off against Central Illinois Fight Club member Ron Wilson for the 170-pound title. Also, “Hostile Validation” matchmaker Bill “Shark” Finn will meet Matt Bollis for the bantamweight title.

Along with an intriguing main event, four title fights, and eight amateur bouts, “Hostile Validation” is filled with a number of the state’s noteworthy professional fighters. WEC-veteran Sergio Gomez, rising star Dallas O’Malley, and former headliner Mike Lambrecht are all scheduled to compete on Saturday. Also, Clementi’s Team Voodoo teammates JC Pennington and Brock Kerry will be showcased in front of the Milwaukee crowd.

Rarely does an organization put together such an impressive conglomeration of talent on their inaugural card. With an assorted mixture of notable national figures, rising local prospects, and all around talented mixed martial artists, Steel Fist Entertainment seems to have hit a homerun with “Hostile Validation”.
