| MMA Regulation Town Hall Meetings Announced for August |

“We want those involved with MMA to be well informed of the rules before the take effect,” Hector Colon said of the announced meetings. Colon is Wisconsin’s Boxing/MMA Commissioner and an Executive Assistant of the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.
The meetings, which are each scheduled to last an hour, will discuss nearly all aspects of the recently drafted rules including definitions and general terminology, weight classes, qualifications of referees and judges, bond requirements, promoter fees and duties, and cage specifications.

The regulation of mixed martial arts will come into full effect on September 1, 2010. And in order to educate the public on these changes, the Athletic Commission has set up four separate town hall meetings in different cities.
