anthonypettis6According to reports from mmajunkie.com, a fight between Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and Bart Palaszewski has been scheduled; while the fight has yet to be confirmed with Pettis, he recently posted on Facebook that his next fight will take place on December 19, the same date that MMAJunkie is reporting.

Pettis has ran into a stretch of bad luck over the past few months as injuries to both himself and his opponents have forced him out of WEC 43 and WEC 44.  Most recently, a separated shoulder caused “Showtime” to postpone a November showdown with “Razor” Rob McCullough.

The Roufusport fighter will bring an undefeated record into the cage in December.  At 7-0, his lone fight within the WEC ended with Pettis submitting Mike Campbell early in the first round.

His potential opponent, Bart “Bartimus” Palaszewski, has a record of 32-13. The Illinois fighter trains out of Team Curran.  A few of his past opponents include Clay Guida, Chris Horodecki, and Jim Miller.  He came up short against all three opponents.

The only common opponent that both fighters have faced is that of Jay Ellis.  Both fighters forced Ellis to submit in less than two minutes, Pettis with strikes and Palaszewski with a leg triangle.  However, the two’s fate has been interlinked through injuries.

Earlier this year, Pettis was forced out of a fight with Anthony Njokuani.  Palaszewski ended up filling in for the fallen Milwaukeean, but ultimately lost to Njokuani by TKO.

Also, Palaszewski was able to defeat Alex Karalexis in December of 2008; the same opponent that was forced out of a WEC 43 showdown due to injury.

Damn I was hoping he would still fight Razor Rob, I think that would be a more exciting fight. I mean Bart is tough but I think Pettis will take him out in the first or second round. I still want to se Pettis vs Anthony Njokuani which was supposed to be his first fight in the WEC.
