Chico "King" Camus (3-1 via Sherdog.com) is taking on Ken Sitsler (3-1 via Sherdog.com) this Saturday in a highly anticipated bantamweight match up. Recently, WCS was given the opportunity to catch up with Chico and ask him about his thoughts on the upcoming fight.

WCS: After redeeming yourself against Marco Daniels with your second round win at the last
Gladiators show you fought in, you're looking strong. What will your game plan be against
your next opponent, Ken Sitsler, who shares not only the same record as you (via Sherdog)
but the same number of submissions, and has never had a fight go to the judges table?

Camus: The game plan is simple...GO GET EM...Obviously he has a huge height and reach advantage, but I am confident I will be able to control the fight and make him make mistakes. And when he does, I will make him pay.

WCS: Ken Sitsler has won his last three fights. Do you think the momentum of his win-streak
will give him a mental edge coming into this next fight?

Camus: No, not at all. Every fight is different and styles make match ups. Ken is a good fighter, but he has not fought anyone like me yet. I think it's going to be a great fight, and August 15th I will be the new bantamweight champ.

WCS: Duke Roufus Fighters such as yourself are reknowned for their striking ability. Will you
be looking to stand and bang with Sitsler or will you try and take the fight to the ground?

Camus: I'll let Ken pick his poison. I'm confident wherever the fight goes. My jits is looking good, and my striking is pretty dangerous too. So, I'll let Ken pick where he wants to lose.

WCS: Sitsler, in an earlier interview on the upcoming fight, has suggested that the fight will
not go five rounds. What is your view on how long the fight will last?

Camus: I can bet it does not go the distance either...Duke has us training to finish fights all the time at the gym. Anything can happen so I am not saying what round it will end in, but it's not going all five rounds.

WCS: Sitsler has also said that he would like to catch you in a choke, by which he has already
finished a fight in his career, have you trained to defend against the dreaded guillotine?

Camus: I train my jits with some of the best in Wisconsin. Red Schafer is the man, and he is a hell of a jits coach. All the coaches at Dukes give me great advice, so I'm confident my coaches will have me ready for whatever he throws at me...

WCS: Your opponent Sitsler has a huge reach, and a reach advantage, how will you look to
nullify this apparent advantage?

Camus: I'm going to be looking to use what I have learned, slip some shots, make him miss and make him pay.I have been working on
my boxing a lot with Duke and Scott Cushman, so hopefully I will be able to use what I have been working on.

WCS: Conditioning is one of the most important parts of the MMA game. How is your conditioning compared to when you last fought?

Camus: My conditioning is right where it needs to be. I have already [gone] the distance once in my career, so I know what it feels like, and I have trained
harder for this fight than [for] any other fight I ever had. Duke has me doing two a days, so I'm confident in my cardio if the fight goes the distance.

WCS: You're coming in as the underdog this fight. Do you prefer this to coming in with too much hype?

Camus: If there is an underdog in this fight, I think it would be me.
I'm only 5'6" and Sitsler is 6'1". It's like David versus Goliath in this one...but I don't think I need to remind you guys who won that one...

I would like to thank Wisconsin Combat Sports for the interveiw and all my coaches, sponsors and my teammates for helping me out this camp...
see you guys august 15th...

See you we will, Chico. Let us look forward to a fight of biblical proportions taking place this Saturday!

Can't wait to watch this fight on Sat**day. Should be a good one. Chico has top notch training at Duke's & Ken trains with two of the best pound for pound fighters in the state 5 times a week. No doubt both guys will be ready for a war.
