  • Former UFC LHW Champ Tito Ortiz Arrested in California

    Former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion and Mixed Martial Artist, Tito Ortiz was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after a single-car collision in West Los Angeles, Calif., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said in a press release. The popular athlete, whose birth name is Jacob Christopher Ortiz, was taken into custody around 4:00 a.m. after his car crashed on the 405 Freeway near Sepulveda and Santa Monica boulevards, the CHP said.

    2013 was an amazing year for Pennyslvania based professional mixed martial artist, Rich Patishnock. Patishnock (6-1 as a pro), who trains at Chamber MMA in East Stroudsburg went 2-0 inside the cage defeating two members of the famed Gracie family, Igor and Gregor, but it was what happened on the last day of the year that made those wins more meaningful. Patishnock’s head coach at Chamber MMA, Don Cioffi, received a call from the World Series of Fighting (WSOF), the organization for which Patishnock fights under contract.

    They are arguably two of the biggest names in mixed martial arts in Japan, yet they never faced one another....until yesterday. Sort of. Bob "the Beast" Sapp and former Pride Fighting Championship's heavyweight kindpin, Fedor Emelianenko faced each other in the semi-finals of a 17-man celebrity arm wrestling tournament in the Land of the Rising Sun. The tournament also saw the likes of Alistair Overeem, Mark Hunt, Norifumi 'Kid' Yamamoto, Kevin Randleman, Kazushi Sakuraba, Jerome LeBanner, Francisco Filho and a man who actually makes Sapp look like a dwarf, 415-pound Estonian sumo wrestling champ, named Baruto.
