Referee Kim Winslow responds to Tate stoppage
Miesha Tate, more than anyone else, is unhappy with the stoppage of her number one contender bout with “Alpha” Cat Zingano this past Saturday night. Tate, the former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion wanted the chance at redemption with current champion Ronda Rousey and the only way to get there was to go through Zingano, however after several unanswered shots to “Cupcake’s” face and head, referee Kim Winslow called a stop to the action in the third round declaring Alpha Cat the winner. -

This past Saturday after the finale of season 17 of the hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter, MMA fans everywhere witnessed the first official staredown between next season’s coaches and future opponents, Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano. “Alpha” Cat Zingano, the first mother of the octagon, earned her right to challenge the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Rousey, at the culmination of their season which will air on Fox Sports 1 in September. Zingano took to Twitter to ask Rousey for a favor. Lac Du Flambeau- King of the Cage at the Lake of the Torches Casino delivered action packed mixed martial arts once again Saturday night. The card had eleven bouts, all with exciting finishes. The fans proved their enjoyment by the loud sold out cheers during each fight. Jay Buck of Gilbert Grappling and Cully “The Mason” Butterfield headlined the main event. The co-main event was between R.T. Hicks and Isaiah Pitts at 185. -

At the North American Fighting Championship “BattleGround,” the co-main event was between featherweights, “Captain” Morgan Sickinger and Jose Pacheco. The King of the Cage returns April 13,,with an exciting card at the Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin. On the amateur fight card of “Lights Out”, one match up stands out from the rest as the exciting 2-0, Larry Watson will battle against 10-10, Cory Harsh of Michigan. The national promotion King of the Cage will be a great place for Watson to showcase his raw skills. The fight at the Lake of the Torches Casino is an amateur bout using professional rules. Elbows, Knees to the face, and submission attacks to the legs are all acceptable during the bout. Each fighter is cutting weight from 170-pounds to battle at 155 (lightweight) on April 13.
