Another month means another career-defining fight for Team Quest's Sam Alvey. Set to square off with Strikeforce veteran Lucas Lopes tomorrow night at ShoFight 20 in Missouri, Alvey is looking for a victory and another opportunity to inch closer towards his dream of reaching the UFC.
Still only 26-years-old, Alvey's early career has seemingly spanned the globe having competed in countries such as New Zealand, Mexico, and Trinidad. Most recently, "Smile'N Sam" defeated Daniel "Jacare" Almeida in Canada.
"That was a great fight and a great experience fighting against Mr. Almeida," Alvey told US Combat Sports. "He was being followed around by a camera crew for a tv show and it made it all the more exciting. I don't think I was supposed to win, and everyone wanted me to lose, but I wasn't going to."
