On Saturday, January 21, at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque, Jackson’s MMA Series presents a ten bout card. Jackson’s MMA Series VII will feature Fight Girls and MTV’s Bully Beat Down star Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson (8-3), who is making her return to the cage against up-and-coming Diana “Dynamite” Rael (3-1).

Waterson, a veteran of Strikeforce, trains at Jackson’s-Winkeljohn’s MMA and has been a karate black belt since the age of 16 and also specializes in Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and Wushu. This will be her first fight since April 2010. The layoff was due to Waterson giving birth to her first child, a daughter by the name of Araya in March of this year.

Rael fights for Serial Boxe Fight Team out of Advantage Martial Arts in Arvada, Colorado and is adept in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Rael, is coming off an impressive split decision victory over previously undefeated Angelica Chavez (4-1), in Chavez’ hometown of Albuquerque, in a very exciting bout.  

This will be the second time that the Jackson’s MMA Series promotion pins two females in the main event and the first since Julie Kedzie and Kaitlin Young faced off at last year’s Jackson’s MMA Series IV.

Also on the card are Travis “T-Train” Marx (18-3) from Stansbury Park, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona native Yaotzin Meza (18-6) in a lightweight contest. Both men are riding impressive winning streaks into this fight. Marx has won eight of his last ten fights and Meza is on a six fight winning streak.

The fastest growing MMA event in the southwest, Jackson’s MMA Series, has been a launching pad for many fighters. Past Jackson’s MMA Series participants include TUF 14 Featherweight Champion Diego Brandao, TUF 14 veteran Johnny Bedford, StrikeForce competitors Lionel Lanham, Julie Kedzie, Sarah D’Alelio and Issac Vallie-Flagg.
