Fye Fries Horowitz, Roncoroni Rocks Alfaro at Sherman Cage Rage
The second installment of Sherman Cage Rage was held at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg last night. The Feb. 23 fight card was jam packed with action at both the amateur and professional levels. In the evening’s main event, Joe Fye (2-0) improved his undefeated record to three wins with no losses as the attending physician asked referee Keith Peterson to stop a call to the action after Fye opened a massive gash under the left eye of opponent Kevin Horowitz. The fight started with Fye dropping Horowitz from inside the clinch with a devastating knee. Just when it appeared the fight would end in the opening second, Horowitz made it back to his feet and started to exchange leather with Fye....Add Comment -

At 47-years of age there are many people and more importantly there are state athletic commissions that would say Rodney "Sledge Hammer" Guignet is too old to compete in MMA however age doesn’t seem to slowing the Hammer’s momentum. Just last month Guignet captured yet another title to bring home to his gym, Hammer Training Fitness in Allentown, PA. The 47-year-old fighter captured a light heavyweight amateur title on Jan. 12 in Harrington, Del., as he defeated Andrew Murray at Stellar Fights 13 with TKO/referee stoppage in the second round. Bellator middleweight Duane Bastress named York Head Wrestling Coach
One of Bellator Fighting Championship’s top middleweight fighters, Duane Bastress, ofTeam Total Dominationwas recently announced as thehead wrestling coach at York College in York, PA. Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation, Paul Saikia, announced Bastress would help lead and coach the Spartans effective the end of the 2012-13 season. He replaces long-time head coach Tom Kessler who has announced he is stepping away from the program at the end of the campaign. -

Unfortunately for Elbe he did not make it into the house as he lost in the preliminary bout to determine who would make the roster. NFL Cheerleader Looks to Remain Undefeated in MMA
Rachel Wray (no, not celebrity chef and entrepreneur Rachael Ray), but the former Kansas City cheerleader type just wishes to extend her amateur mixed martial arts career to 2-0 as she eagerly awaits an opponent for a scheduled Jan. 25 fight in Kansas City. Training out of HDMMA, Wray is coming off a second round TKO victory in her first sanctioned bout in September. Her opponent in that fight was Ashleigh Tilman who was also making her amateur debut.
