New York MMA returns to the vote of the State Assembly
After a five month hiatus, the bill calling for the sanctioning of MMA in New York, A-2009c, has returned to the beginning. The bill is set on the agenda of the New York State Assembly’s Committee of Parks, Tourism, and Sports Development, chaired by Assemblyman Steve Englebright, next week. Sports Development is the first of three committees that the bill passed through last year before stalling out due to legislative backlog, and must pass through again before being voted into law.Add Comment -

This Saturday at 1:30 PM ET Cage Radio falls on TUF Times. Ultimate Fighter season 11 contestant and Mid-Atlantic fan favorite Kris “The Savage” McCray joins the panel to discuss the current season, his TUF experience, and the teammates he will be cornering at the up and coming UWC 8 show. -
Shine Fighters Enter Arena Photo Highlights
The fighters entered the arena for what was to be a tremendous card for Shine III: Worlds Collide. The fights, however, were canceled just before showtime by the North Carolina Athletic Commission. Washington Combat presents "Battle of Legends"
Last night's event at the DC Armory, presented by Washington Combat, delivered eight exciting fights headlined by MMA legends Pedro "The Rock" Rizzo and Gary "Big Daddy" Goodridge, with Gustavo Machado and Jordan Smith lining up for the co-main event. The card drew heavily from several well-known local MMA talents, including the Yamasaki brothers, as matchmaker and referee, and Luke Thomas of bloodyelbow.com and WJFK radio show, MMA Nation, providing commentary. -

Renegade MMA Competition Team- first night
Wednesday night marked the beginning of an experiment at Long Island’s own Tiger Martial Arts, as the Levittown gym hosted the first meeting of the Renegade MMA Competition Team. The team was formed with the goal of taking 20 able-bodied young men with little to no martial arts experience and turning them into competitive mixed martial artists over the next two years. -
