King Grappler Produces Quality Matches, Despite Organizational Issues
We all have bad days sometimes. Mark Severtson, head instructor at Badgerland Jiu-Jitsu and the host of King Grappler, had a bad day Saturday. His mats were in Chicago, half his competition was at another tournament, two of his supermatches were canceled and nothing was going right. Severtson’s sixth go at King Grappler was plagued by delays, confusion, disorganization and lack of competitors. The tournament attendance appeared to be about half of its normal volume, with a large number of grapplers choosing instead to enter into Combat Do’s Midwest Jiu-Jitsu Tournament, transforming King Grappler into much more of a local affair, drawing many of the best grapplers from southern Wis... -
Racine Fight Nights – November 29th
Agallar Combative Systems is putting on its debut show November 29 at Memorial Hall in Racine, featuring grappling matches and amateur boxing in addition to MMA bouts with local favorites Sherron Rob Roy Leggett and Gerald Meerschaert. -

Red Wins in Omaha
With only seven seconds left in the first round, Wisconsins Eric Red Schafer submitted Houston Alexander last night at UFCs Ultimate Fight Night 15 in Omaha, NE. The light heavyweight match took place at the Civic Auditorium in Alexanders hometown and was a crucial bout in both mens careers. Alexander and Schafer each entered the fightcoming off of two lossesin the UFC and it played out exactly as it was designed: a classic grappler versus striker match. -
