North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts, one of the premier schools in Sussex County, recently promoted two more students to the rank of blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Black belt instructor Ioannis (Yanni) Hronakis had just completed a seminar at the school as a guest instructor before the promotions.

Yanni is the head instructor at his own school, Up Top Martial Arts Academy in Wayne, N.J. He is a 4th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Black Belt in BJJ.

The seminar was held at NJ MMA, located in Lafayette, the evening of April 16 and covered both Gi and No Gi techniques. Some of the guard positions that were demonstrated were Spider, De la Riva, 50/50, and DEEP half guards.

The two newly promoted students, Darren Siegel and Tim Gallagher have been training at NJ MMA for more than a year.
