College Wrestling Spotlight: NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals Mat Mayhem Launches off In Minnesota At 6pm CT
The University of Minnesota is hosting the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Cliff Keen National Duals Mat Mayhem, which includes eight of the toughest teams in the country. The National duals take place February 22-23, 6 p.m. central time in the Williams Arena. It will be broadcasted on the Big Ten Network, and Fox College Sports.
The number one seeded Oklahoma State squares off first against #8 Illinois and #4 seeded Ohio State battles the tough #5 seed Missouri Tigers. Both these matches take place at the 6 p.m. time slot for the first round.
At 8 p.m. #2 Iowa Hawkeyes battle a talented #7 Cornell team. The #3 Golden Gophers also hit the other mat against the #6Virginia Tech Hokies. Winner of these four dual meets will face each other in the semi-finals of the NWCA Cliff Keen Mat Mayhem National Duals.
Saturday, Feb. 23, semi-finals kick-off at 1 p.m. and the finals are projected to launch at 7 p.m..
Oklahoma State, Missouri, Cornell and Virginia Tech all won their respective regional tournaments to join #8 Illinois, #2 Iowa, #4 Minnesota, and #5 Ohio State, who all received automatic bids to the National duals.
