Xtreme Fighting Championships continues its 2012 expansion with another big free agent acquisition. As the promotion gears up for the next event in Charlotte, they have announced the signing of Miami native Bantamweight standout Shah Bobonis to a multi-fight contract.

The agreement will allow the rising fighter a chance to showcase his talents on a national level and work towards an XFC title. Bobonis is a veteran of the sport and has been competing professionally in MMA since 2007, twice with the XFC.

Holding a professional record of 13-6, he has gone 8-2 in his last ten bouts, and is currently riding an impressive five-fight win streak. Bobonis has all of the necessary skills to become a fan favorite.

As a fighter he is very well rounded, with wins coming by four via knockout or TKO, five submissions, and three decisions. Bobonis brings a confident, somewhat flashy style to the cage, where he prefers to keep his fights standing and put his boxing skills on full display.

Standup is where Bobonis looks the most comfortable, but the five-year veteran has all the tools necessary to bring fights to the mat and isn't afraid to do so even against black belts in BJJ. Paired up with his exciting fighting style, Bobonis has a mouth that could compete with Ali in his prime.

Bobonis who tweets via the handle '@ShahBobonis' is far from shy and can be seen calling out some of the regions top Bantamweights. Following XFC 17, when Marlon Moraes destroyed his opponent in less than a minute, Bobonis went public with his thoughts on the Brazilian and how poorly he might fare in a fight if Moraes faced him in the cage. That's just one of the many cases where Bobonis is not afraid to speak his mind. He will surely keep XFC fans entertained in the coming years.

Bobonis does not have a set date for his first bout as a signed XFC fighter, though it has been rumored it could be as soon as December. The fighter is one of many talented individuals to join the promotions roster in 2012. And already riding a 5-fight win streak could put Bobonis in line for a Title shot in the XFC Bantamweight division sometime in 2013.
