Felice Herrig Returns at XFC 19 in Charlotte Against England...

Felice "Lil Bulldog" Herrig will make her third appearance with Xtreme Fighting Championships, when the promotion brings a stacked line-up to the Grady Cole Center for their first event in North Carolina. The card, which also includes XFC standouts Corey Hill and Nick Newell, will host a co-main event in the women's strawweight division, between Herrig and England's Simona Soukupova.

Herrig is currently ranked eighth in the world in the strawweight division and is coming off an impressive decision victory over more veteran Patricia Vidonic. Vidonic was the second wrestler Herrig had been matched up with in her XFC career and the XFC 17 win showcased her growth as a Martial Artist, making it clear she more than deserves her WMMA Top10 ranking.

Just three months since her win over Vidonic, Herrig is now scheduled to take on one of England's most elite Muay Thai strikers, Simona Soukupova. Soukupova, who has an MMA record of 2-1, has competed against some of the top Muay Thai fighters in Europe and has finished her two victories by knockout and a corner stoppage.

The matchup is destined to give XFC fans a Fight of the Night worthy bout, as Herrig, who has become one of the promotions top performers, will finally have a chance to showcase her stand up abilities when she faces off with Soukupova.XFC President and matchmaker John Prisco commented on the upcoming bout with excitement.

"This is the first time we've had Felice matched up against a Muay Thai boxer and it should be a really exciting fight. Fans love when they get to see fighters go in the cage eager to stand and bang for 3 rounds. I can't promise this will go three rounds, but it's going to be a great fight."

The introduction of Soukupova also marks the first time a female fighter from the UK will enter the XFC cage. Ideally that might give Herrig a "hometown" advantage with the crowd, although she will be far from her native Illinois.

"I'm excited to have some international competition for the female division," said Prisco, "it adds a new dimension to the Co-Main event and I think it will bring some new attention to Felice, Simona, and our promotion."

XFC 19: Charlotte Showdown is sponsored by ICRealtime Security Solutions, taking place August 3rd from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina live on AXStv. For more information on the event, visit www.OfficialXFC.com and follow the promotion daily on Twitter & Facebook (@OfficialXFC).
