Micah Miller vs. Cory Mahon Pegged as Legends of Fighting Championship 53 Main Event
Indianapolis' Legends of Fighting Championship 53 card in June already looks to be worth the price of admission and the card only has two fights in place.
In addition to the highly publicized bantamweight tournament finale that will earn either Chico Camus or Tom McKenna a contract within the Tachi Palace Fights organization, the night will likely be headlined by a 150-pound catchweight bout between Micah Miller and Cory Mahon.
Confirmed to US Combat Sports by LFC matchmaker Mike Camp, both Miller and Mahon have verbally agreed to the matchup on June 12 with the contracts expected to be finalized in the near future.
Miller, a participant of LFC 8 back in 2006, is a longtime veteran of the fight scene who has competed within the sport's most notable organizations. Not counting his most recent non-sanctioned loss to Steven Siler at The Ultimate Fighter tryouts, "Maverick" is a winner of three consecutive fights and six of his last seven.
The 25-year-old American Top Team fighter has appeared within World Extreme Cagefighting, Dream, Xtreme Fighting Championships, Tachi Palace Fights, and many more top promotions. He holds impressive victories over Diego Saraiva, Bruce Conners, Anthony Morrison and others.
Standing in the way of win number 17 for Miller is Mahon. The 25-year-old Indiana Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy fighter has erased a tough four-fight losing streak with consecutive wins over Ryan McIntosh and Brady Hovermale. Mahon is also scheduled to meet Chase Beebe at Colosseum Combat XXI next month.
With a number of top up-and-comers regularly competing on their cards throughout the years, the LFC organization continues to assert itself as one of the top local promotions throughout the country. Stay tuned to US Combat Sports for more breaking news regarding the LFC 53 lineup.
