SportFight X, Southeastern MMA’s Ultimate Proving Ground, is officially headed to Alabama.

The organization that has previously held shows in Georgia and Tennessee was scheduled to host a show in Birmingham last year before the state commission nixed the idea due to rules and regulations issues.

But that has all changed. On March 24, SFX will host the first professional show in Alabama under the Alabama Athletic Commission. The show will be in Huntsville, Alabama at the Von Braun Center.

Capitalizing on a Georgia versus Alabama theme the night’s main event will feature Stephen Wilhite (Triad Martial Arts, Cullman, AL) against Luke Neyland (X3 Sports in Atlanta, GA) in a featherweight bout. It will be both competitors pro debut.

The SFX co-main event will feature welterweight fighter Matt Smart of Huntsville, Alabama from Sturgis MMA taking on Will Kuhn of X3 Sports Atlanta. Matt Vaughn (Sturgis MMA) is also set to face Steve Hall (X3) at 170-pounds.

With the fight still several weeks away, SFX is still looking to sign more professional fighters for the Huntsville, Showdown. Additional fighters being considered are: Sasuke Zapada and Justin Pennington.

185 - Matt Ward (Triad Martial Arts) vs. Riley Matheson (Head Hunter Combatives)
145 - Wes Baugh (Hybrid MMA) vs. Keaton Woods (American Top Team Atlanta)
