Roufusport and Rothwell MMA are set to clash this weekend as flyweights Dustin Ortiz and Thiago Veiga headline King Of The Cage "Sudden Strike" at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker, Minnesota.

Outside of the excitement that comes from a two-time Strikeforce veteran squaring off with a two-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion, the contest will also have bragging rights on the line for the competing schools.

Once associated with Duke Roufus and Roufusport Academy, Veiga has since joined forces with Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell to create Rothwell MMA & Luiz Claudio Combat Team BJJ.

While a quick glance at Veiga's mixed martial arts record shows only one professional fight – a second round armbar over Donald Ceri at NAFC Mayhem – the Brazilian import is as well respected on the grappling mat as anyone in the Midwest.

Beginning his training alongside Rickson Gracie in 1995, Thiago and his brother Luiz Claudio eventually opened their first LCCT Academy in Brazil. Since that time Veiga has made his way to Wisconsin where he has spent time associated with Neutral Ground, Roufusport, and now Rothwell MMA.

Over the course of his illustrious grappling career Veiga has taken home a number of titles including a BJJ Pan American Championship and two BJJ World Championships. After winning his second Mundial in 2002, he was awarded his black belt by Rickson Gracie. Now, Veiga looks to remain undefeated in the cage against Ortiz on Saturday night.

The month of August was supposed to feature an intriguing flyweight contest between Ortiz and UFC-veteran Jeff Curran at XFO 45 in Illinois. However, a rib injury to "The Big Frog" forced Ortiz to take on another opponent in the form of Veiga.

Hailing from Tennessee, Ortiz recently made the move to Milwaukee to help improve upon his striking game. After beginning his career with a record of 8-1, his only loss coming at the hands of UFC title contender Ian McCall, Ortiz suffered an upset against Josh Robinson earlier this year at NAFC Colosseum.

With the UFC desperately looking to add to its stable of 125-pound fighters each professional flyweight matchup around the country is newsworthy – especially when it features two high caliber mixed martial artists like Ortiz and Veiga.

Stay tuned to US Combat Sports for coverage of the fight between Roufusport's Ortiz and Rothwell MMA & LCCT BJJ's Veiga.
