Sergio Pettis Signs Five-Fight Deal with the Resurrection Fighting Alliance
The immediate future is no longer in question for Sergio "The Phenom" Pettis – or at least for the next five fights – as the nationally notable bantamweight prospect announced today that he has signed a five-fight deal with the Resurrection Fighting Alliance.
Pettis, who has begun his professional career in grand fashion with five straight wins, was one of the hottest young free agents despite still being only 18 years of age. He explained his excitement earlier today on a press release from the organization.
"I am excited to fight for RFA," said Pettis. "It's a great promotion with a lot of really talented fighters. I look forward to the competition and showing the RFA fans what I can do."
According to an earlier report from Steven Marrocco of MMAjunkie.com, no opponent has yet to be named for "The Phenom". However, the organization should offer a plethora of possibilities as undefeated BJJ black belt Chris Holdsworth and undefeated NCAA Division I wrestler Tyler Shinn have also joined the organizational ranks.
Founded in 2011, Resurrection Fighting Alliance has begun to assert itself as one of the most notable promotions not named Ultimate Fighting Championship, Strikeforce, or Bellator. Highly experienced veterans such as Tyson Griffin and Gilbert Yvel share the RFA spotlight with up-and-comers like Pettis.
