Eric Schafer vs. Shonie Carter BJJ Super Match Set for 'Roll for a Cause' in River Grove on July 28
Ultimate Fighting Championship veterans Eric "Red" Schafer and Shonie "Mr. International" Carter are set to square off in a grappling Super Match later this month and it's all for the kids.
The matchup was announced earlier today as an attraction for the upcoming "Roll for a Cause" Submission Grappling/BJJ Open event taking place in River Grove, Illinois, on July 28.
"Roll for a Cause" is an Illinois-based grappling organization that donates proceeds from its event to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Schafer and Carter, both of whom have served as leading figures for their respective Wisconsin and Illinois local scenes, will compete in the No-Gi headlining match for what looks to be an entertaining competition.
Featuring normal competition rules that can be viewed on the "Roll for a Cause" website, the tournament runs $75 for a competitor and $10 for a spectator. The event will take place at Guerin College Preparatory High School with competition scheduled to begin at 10 am.
