New Partnership Announced Between Jackson's MMA Series and EXPO New Mexico
Today a press conference was held to announce an exciting new partnership between the Jackson's MMA Series and EXPO New Mexico.
According to Jackson's GM Ricky Kottenstette the move will further improved the visibility of the promotion and the sport within Albuquerque.
"Bringing the series to the heart of Albuquerque will benefit the city while affording more fans the opportunity to see first rate MMA," Kottenstette told the media in attendance.
The EXPO has big plans for renovations including a new casino and modernization of the landmark Tingley Coliseum. EXPO representative Darren White spoke enthusiastically about the partnership, which will present four annual shows in the first year alone.
"Major plans are underway which will make EXPO New Mexico and Tingley the top spot for sports and entertainment," said White.
Coach Greg Jackson told the audience about what this new venture meant to him. "I am honored and humbled to bring the Series to the heart of the city which has been so kind and supportive of my gym and our athletes." Jackson said.
Jackson's MMA Series has garnered a reputation for launching local athletes to the next level in the sport. The Series will present it's ninth installment at Tingley on September 8th headlined by WEC vet Frank Gomez taking on local wrestling standout Mikey Lovato.
In the co-main event of this historic evening Jackson's standout Hunter Tucker will look to stay undefeated against tough Las Cruces fighter Nate Patterson, preceded by world ranked boxer and undefeated MMA fighter Jodie Esquibel taking on Milwaukie's Liz McCarthy.
Lynae Lovato of Lovato Ultimate Fitness will open the pro card against Jackson's Emily Kagan. As always several talented amateurs will showcase their skills on the undercard. Tickets are on sale at holdmyticket.com.
