Xtreme Fighting Championships returns to action this Friday, live on AXStv from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The event will be the third in Tennessee in 2012, as the promotion continues its Southeastern tour.

XFC President and matchmaker John Prisco has supplied yet another set of great match ps. "Going to be a memorable night for all those in attendance and watching live on HDNet/AXStv. A night no MMA fan will want to miss," says Prisco.

The live action will begin when two middleweight contenders face off as Joe Ray enters the cage against Tennessee's own, Dustin West. Ray, who is known for pushing the pace and punishing his opponents with an array of Muay Thai style strikes, will be looking to earn his third straight victory.

West, a former U.S. Marine, will make his second XFC appearance in 2012 and will attempt to show XFC fans why he could one day be fighting for the Middleweight gold. The match has fight of the night written all over it and it's only the beginning.

The evening will also feature a women's bout, with Heather "Hurricane" Clark taking on veteran Avery Vilche. Vilche enters the fight on short notice in place of injured Sofia Bagherdai.

Vilche will have her hands full with the Hurricane, as Clark will be on a mission to redeem herself following a doctor's stoppage at XFC 16. Clark will likely set the pace for this fight as she looks to send a message to the other Female competitors under the XFC banner. It is rumored that a win over Vilche could earn Clark a rematch with Marianna Kheyfets, something she and XFC fans have both been campaigning for.

Heavyweights will collide for the Co-Main event of the evening at XFC 18 as Scott Barrett will take on challenger Gabe Salinas-Jones, in the "biggest" fight of the evening. Barrett, who last fought Carmelo Marrero at XFC 15, will need to keep the fight standing if he wants to get the win over GSJ.

Salinas-Jones has made some bold statements leading into the bout, hinting that "Barrett was in for a one-sided beat down." This will be Salinas-Jones first XFC appearance since beating Parker Porter with a first round submission at XFC 13. XFC fans will be in for a heavy-hitting fight when these two fighters meet on Friday evening.

XFC 18 will come to a grand finale, with the highlighted Middleweight fight of the evening. UFC vet John Salter will take on Reggie Pena. Pena, a Florida native and XFC vet will challenge the wrestling skills of Salter with his own. Known for pulling out improbable victories over tough opponents, Pena will be looking for another upset win when he takes on Salter in his home state.

Salter will be making his XFC debut and looking to make the proper impressions to the promotion and the XFC fans watching. The Middleweight division, which has become one of the most exciting in the XFC, will put to the test two more phenomenal fighters. With that, we add another Fight of The Night contender to end the event.

As always the XFC card will feature the next generation of both local and national rising talents, giving some of country's most promising fighters a chance to showcase their abilities on a national stage. XFC 18: Music City Mayhem comes to fans live from Nashville Municipal Auditorium with doors opening for the event at 7PM.

Fights air live on HDNet/AXS TV at 10PM ET. XFC 18 is presented by ICRealTime Security Solutions and dedicated to COLTON. For more information on the event, go to Follow the promotion daily on Twitter and Facebook (@OfficialXFC).
