  • Valley Fight Series VII Invades Sands Casino Event Center

    Fighters are looking to drop bombs come this Friday, Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7 when the Valley Fight Series brings their seventh star-studded card to the Event Center at the Sands Casino and Resort in Bethlehem, PA. The card is headlined by Bellator Fighting Championships veterans and local MMA standout, Scott "the Animal" Heckman (12-3) vs. Ralph Acosta (10-6).     It is not very often a professional mixed martial artist reaches out to his fan base and asks for a helping hand, but that is exactly what the Spaniard is doing. This time, however, the fight is not inside of a cage. It's a battle between 10 couples to see just who has the best wedding film of 2012. Charlie "The Spaniard" Brenneman, 31, and his wife Amanda were married in May of this year at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Hollidaysburg, PA followed by a reception at the Lake Raystown Resort in Entriken.

    One of the northeastern Pennsylvania's brightest young mixed martial arts stars, Scott "The Animal" Heckman will be kicking off the holiday spirit this weekend at a Marine Corps Toys for Tots event at Reagle Dodge in Bangor. Heckman (12-3) will be at the car dealership's third annual Toys for Tots kickoff event from 1 – 3 p.m and will be joined by the jolliest of all, Santa Claus himself who will arrive via helicopter. Anyone who brings a brand new unwrapped toy will automatically be entered to win a 2013 Dodge Dart. The Marine Corps Bulldog mascot will be escorted to the event by the Plainfield Township Fire Department.

  • Autism Awareness Inspires New Jersey's Tom DeBlass to Mentor at Grapplers Quest

    Last year Grapplers Quest partnered with, to create the "Grappling Autism Charity Seminar Series" in order to help raise funds for Autism Awareness. Grapplers Quest gives proceeds to AutismRadio, a non-profit (501c3) charitable organization who developed the first Autism Family Support, Diet, and Treatment Radio Network, a program that help families cope with the challenges of Autism.   • Who Will Land the First Punch When Bellator Hits Spike?

    When was the last time you as a fan got to actually pick and choose a fight card lineup? Probably never, but now you can. Bellator Fighting Championships, the fast rising competitor to the UFC, will make the switch to the television network Spike in January. Spike, the former home of the UFC, started showcasing one behind the scenes in-depth looks at four different welterweight fighters each Thursday evening in November starting November 8.

    Former Olympic hopeful Shawn Bunch came up a match short of representing the United States of America in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Bunch transitioned from being purely a World competitive amateur Freestyle wrestler to a professional Mixed Martial Artist. Bunch nick named "Bunch the Great", signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator Fighting Championship in June of 2012.
