    Amateur mixed martial arts fighters in Pennsylvania would be able to strike the head of an opponent who's on the mat under a new regulation making its way through the state approval process. Professional MMA athletes are allowed to use the "ground and pound" technique, but Pennsylvania currently bans it from amateur fights.

Sullivan who just celebrated his 32 birthday yesterday and holds a professional record of 12-3 is currently riding a four fight win streak with his most recent victory coming at the midway point of round two in his February 2 bout with Julian Lane.

    East Stroudsburg, PA’s, Team Chamber and AMA Fight Club of Whippany, N.J., fighter Rich Patishnock, recently signed to fight Igor Gracie (5-3) in Atlantic City, March 23 under the World Series of Fighting promotion. The WSOF 2 main eventis between two former UFC competitors, former heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski and Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson. Patishnock,( 4-1) alternates training between Chamber and AMA and said told USCS he would not be where he is if it were not for coaches at both camps and the entire training staff and teams at both locations.

  • Bellator middleweight Duane Bastress named York Head Wrestling Coach

    One of Bellator Fighting Championship’s top middleweight fighters, Duane Bastress, ofTeam Total Dominationwas recently announced as thehead wrestling coach at York College in York, PA. Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation, Paul Saikia, announced Bastress would help lead and coach the Spartans effective the end of the 2012-13 season. He replaces long-time head coach Tom Kessler who has announced he is stepping away from the program at the end of the campaign.
