When I began covering the sport of mixed martial arts and stepping into the local community, I realized that giving back and reaching out was important. Just like something out of a superhero comic book, they were choosing to use their powers for good. There is no need for fighters, promoters or managers to help others but many of them do. A few of them have shown that their passion lies within the fight as well as within improving the lives of others. This type of passion can start from a simple choice, an inspirational story, or a chance to see where their help is needed most.
