    On Friday the 13th, the night known as a bad omen, the 11th-ranked Michigan wrestling team didn’t allow a night of superstition interfere with their intentions to win. The Wolverines hosted an unranked Indiana University at the Cliff Keen Arena on Friday, January 13, looking to rebound in Big Ten action after suffering a decisive loss to the seventh ranked Illinois club via a score of 31-9 less than a week ago. With Big Ten Conference action resuming the Wolverines entered the dual meet with intentions to get back on track with a victory. And a victory is exactly what the Ann Arbor competitors earned.

Despite suffering a painful thumb to the eye early in the bout, Alvey stuck firmly to his game plan and was able to withstand an aggressive Larrea before ultimately finishing the fight via TKO at the 4:39 mark of the first round.

    King Of The Cage "Steel Curtain" brought nine professional bouts and what should have been a 185-pound title matchup to Norman, Oklahoma Saturday night. The card featured 13 Oklahomans looking to grab a win in front of a sold out crowd at Riverwind Casino’s Showplace Theater. Headlining the card was to be a title fight between current belt holder Brandon Hunt and the undefeated Sean Strickland. Unfortunately Strickland came in overweight and regardless of how the bout played out Hunt would retain his title.
  • Ultimate Cage Fighting "Fight For a Cure" Ends Alabama's Era of Unregulated Events, Ramer and Ledkins Victorious

    Ultimate Cage Fighting packed the house in Brewton, Alabama on Friday night with one team selling over 120 tickets to their fans. The event was scheduled to showcase ten fights but several backed out at the last minute for a variety of reasons. Fortunately, the heavyweight fight almost got cancelled before Josh Gilley volunteered to step in against UFC newcomer Scott Thomas. The last minute changes mark one of the major issues with unregulated fights within the USA. Fighters are required to sign contracts at most, if not all Alabama fights. They are not yet legal and enforceable according to some.

    The South Point Casino in Las Vegas was the place to be on Saturday night as Sin City Fight Promotions presented its third amateur fight night. The fans would not leave disappointed as they were treated to nine hard-fought amateur bouts. The night saw various highlights, including a majority decision victory by the Sin City Fights lightweight champion David Jordan, Ramsen Merza submitting Sean Cantor with a guillotine, and a ferocious battle between Boostayre Nefarios and Kyosuke Yokoyama that left the fans craving for more action.
