    The mixed martial arts community lost a good one today as Sherman Pendergarst passed away following a battle with cancer. Taken far too early, "The Tank" fearlessly battled cancer until the end, much like he did in his lengthy fight career. There was never a foe too imposing or too high profile for Pendergarst. The Miletich Fighting Systems competitor spent time within a number of national organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Bellator Fighting Championships as well as within local promotions like the North American Fighting Championship and the Xtreme Fighting Organization.
