It was another momentous year across the board for the combative sports world. 2012 saw continued domination from some of the best champions in history, an explosion of local combative sports, and much more. Thanks from all of us at US Combat Sports for supporting the local fight scene. See you in 2013.
Food, family, and football – is there anything better than Thanksgiving? Well, maybe an Anderson Silva versus Jon Jones superfight, but we'll save that for another day. US Combat Sports would like to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving.
Over the years, your support has been overwhelming and all of us here at USCS wholeheartedly thank you for making us your number one source for local combative sports news. Now go enjoy some turkey.
So in the latest episode, Episode 6 "Return of the "Big ol" Jedi" the show started with a recap of last weeks fight and it showed Big Country informing Nick that he lost because he didn't listen to him.
Team Big Country was just starting to get upset about the coaching style of their leaders and it was apparent it was starting to bug everyone. Then once again it went to Secor picking fights with the other team and this time it was the shirtless wonder, the Canadian sensation, the thunder from down under (the north pole) Mike Hill.
It was fun watching the show this week because none of us knew who stole that chicken until now. Apparently it wasn't Mike but he sure reacted to the slightest taunt and that made for an interesting 20 minutes of yelling and fighting.
When the name of Eric Schafer is brought up one's first thought doesn't usually go towards kickboxing. Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, or even "Boy Wonder" make sense.
But on Saturday, "Red" ventures out of his comfort zone and steps into the cage against fellow Wisconsin veteran Demian Decorah in a kickboxing bout as part of Chris Skoglund's Lights Out "Brawl In The Fall" promotion.
To date, no Wisconsinite has ever fought inside the UFC more than Schafer. The 35-year-old currently holds a record of 12-7-2 with nearly half of those fights coming inside of Dana White's world-renowned promotion. But in all of those fights, Schafer's deadly grappling ability was always at his disposal.
The first episode of The Ultimate Fighter 16 is just around the corner and US Combat Sports is ridiculously excited to announce that TUF 16 cast member Sam Alvey will be contributing a weekly article every Saturday to give you inside information about each episode.
Considered as one of the favorites on this year's cast, "Smile'N" Sam will discuss the results of each episode as well as his viewpoints on the fights, the inevitable household antics, and everything else of interest from the weekly reality show.
Hailing from Wisconsin and now training at Team Quest in California, Alvey has been one of MMA's hottest prospects since making his professional debut back in July of 2008 with a second round submission victory over Shane Malchiodi.
Combative sports such as mixed martial arts, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are measured by hard work, constant effort, and dedication. So a holiday like Labor Day – designed to honor working people – is all that more special for many participants. Have a safe and happy Labor Day from all of us at US Combat Sports.
Eleven score and five years ago America was born. Now, all citizens are free to watch, participate, and flat out love local combative sports. US Combat Sports would like to wish all of you a happy and safe Fourth of July.

Nearly five years ago Wisconsin Combat Sports opened its doors in an effort to shine some light on the exciting local combative sports scene throughout the state of Wisconsin. The effort was an instant success.
Providing written coverage, fight photography, and video from events across the state WCS emerged as the unofficial online community for all things Wisconsin MMA. Creating gym listings for local businesses, increasing ticket sales for local promotions, and helping local fighters gain recognition the site helped raise awareness for members of the fight community.
Two years later the site made its way across the United States. Transitioning from Wisconsin Combat Sports to US Combat Sports, the company shifted its attention to covering local combative sports around the country opening sites in New Mexico, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, and the entire Mid-Atlantic region. But the real work is just about to begin.
Happy Memorial Day. Everyone at US Combat Sports wishes to thank all of those that are currently serving, have served in the past, or will serve for our country in the future.
Your contributions and sacrifices have made the high quality of life in America possible and we will not soon forget. In a time when the word "hero" is thrown around loosely, veterans truly deserve the utmost respect and admiration.
From all of our active men and women competing in Army Combatives, current UFC and Strikeforce stars such as Brian Stann and Tim Kennedy, or even one of the sport's greatest legends in Randy Couture, veterans and combative sports go hand in hand.
Will “Franchise” Dicke stands ready to put his five fight winning streak up against Ed “Smashing Machine” Smith Friday May 18th at the National Guard “Fight Me” showcase in Madison, Wisconsin.
Dicke (11-3) is fresh off a title fight victory against Jessie Lund(10-3) last month at the Midwest Cage Championships in Indiana. Since his loss in March of 2011, Dicke has regained his focus and rattled off 5 straight victories and in the process shown off a well-rounded game within the cage.
