  • Holm Delivers Another Classic Performance Defeating McGee in Final Bout

Anyone who questioned if Holly Holm's heart was in this fight was quickly answered. In her Swan Song fight Holm did what she's done so many times before: take her opponent apart. She left "Merciless" Mary McGee standing flat footed and confused. McGee appeared to switch up her game plan on the fly more than once, at times rushing Holms in an attempt to cut off the ring, other times standing still and waiting to counter punch - neither worked.

  • Felipe Chavez Makes Long Awaited Return to the Cage in Triple A MMA Main Event

Felipe "Flip" Chavez, 5-3, is eager to get back in the cage after a nearly four year hiatus. Chavez last fought in September of 2009 losing a tough battle against Mark Oshiro, a fight in which Chavez sustained a serious neck injury. The loss to Oshiro halted a three fight win streak, but the injury forced Chavez to reasses his fight career. He wisely chose his health first, and so began a three and a half year break from competition.

Now healthy and well conditioned Chavez stands ready to re-ignite his fight career starting with his main event tilt against Ron White on the Triple A MMA card April 28th. I caught up with Chavez one week before his fight and sat down for the following interview.

  • Holly Holm Makes Tearful Retirment Announcement, Declares Next Goal

Displaying genuine emotion, , Holly Holm today announced her retirment from boxing. In front of stunned media a tearful Holm explained that she would be stepping away from the ring after her May clash with hot young prospect Mary McGee, a champion in her own right who'll make Holm's boxing Swan Song her stiffest test to date.

So how then can a 14 time world champion in her prime walk away. Well, thankfully she's not: " I want to follow my passion, and right now that's MMA" she told a relieved audience. Holm already sports a 3-0 MMA record having easily finished all three of her opponents with her devastating strikes. I was at all three fights and I can tell you she hits a lot harder with 4 ounce gloves and finishes - which eluded her in ring - are becoming the norm for Holm in the cage.
