This coming April 13, 2013, King of the Cage returns to Wisconsin at the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino in Lac Du Flambeau. Retired UFC middleweight fighter Jorge Rivera recently came out of retirement for one last fight as he took on WAAF 97.7/107.3’s Anthony “Spaz” Parziale of the station’s Hill-Man morning show. The pseudo fight featured a series of comedic videos building up to the one-sided exhibition domination handed down by Rivera. -

The Division 1, 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships, in Des Moines, IA, will be aired by ESPN once again. Their contract with D-1 NCAA wrestling extends through 2024. ESPN will be airing every session on ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN3, and WatchESPN. The full coverage will include First Round, Second Round, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, Medal Round and Final match from the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships take place March 21-23, 2013, in Des Moines, IA, at the Wells Fargo Arena. -

The Montgomery Open was the first of its kind in Alabama; a full out NAGA Style Grappling event held in at the Multiplex at Crampton Bowl. Bill Boutwell and companyheld thefull grappling event forcompetitors of all ages. Many we talked to said they were so happy to have this in their area as theydisliked the drive to Atlanta, Georgiato compete in other competitions.Having an event in Alabama much less in Central Alabama (Montgomery) was a blessing to many that attended. -

The XFC has been promoting Women’s MMA since 2007 and has featured at least one female bout on each of their events since. The strawweight division became one of the most active groups in 2012, which led to XFC President John Prisco’s decision to make the fight between Eggink and Magana a championship bout. -
College Wrestling: Big Ten Wrestling Championships Hardest In The Nation
Leading up to the NCAA Division One championships, the Big Ten Tournament is arguably the toughest tournament in the nation. Last season Penn State won their second national championship after advancing five wrestlers into the finals and three of whom took home a crown. The Golden Gophers were runner-ups in the tournament last year. In the last six seasons a Big Ten team won the National championship and three out of the six years a Big Ten team was a runner-up. In the finals of the NCAA national championships, the Big Ten had 12 out of the 20 possible wrestlers in the finals. Six of them wrestled each other and out of the 12, seven went onto win a NCAA national championship. -

Atlas Fights started off their 2013 MMA Campaign in full style by creating a mma show like no other in the Gulf Coast Area of Mississippi, March 2. The I.P. Casino was the venue this past Saturday night and Atlas could not have paired up better talent. Long time rivals Danny Ruiz from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida took on UFC Veteran, Charlie Rader from New Orleans, Louisiana. Rader is well known as a participant in theUFC Ultimate Fighter TV Show, Season 13.
